Kids Say...

I just have to say, I love my calling in church. I've never taught the 7-8 year olds before and I never knew how much fun that age group could be. We just have some of the cutest little characters in our class. I team teach with another girl, Katrina, whom I just adore! We're both about the same age and in the same stage of life and we just have so much fun with these guys! Anyways I've noticed over the last couple weeks, as they've gotten more comfortable with us that their personalities are starting to really come out and show through. Well Katrina taught the lesson today and she brought little treats for the kids as part of the object lesson. She had them close their eyes and she went around and put the treats in their laps. When they opened their eyes they were allowed to eat these yummy homemade chocolate truffles (they were in heaven). All their faces gradually started getting more and more coated with chocolate and they were so excited and absolutely loving their little sweets. All of a sudden one of our little boys Thomas blurts out "this is like a rodeo in my mouth!" Katrina stopped what she was talking about and we both just started cracking up, we thought it was so funny! They are always saying the funniest things and I just had to share this one because I've never heard that analogy before. Thomas must have really enjoyed his little truffle! I guess we'll have to do more object lessons like that now that we know how much it means to our little class! I mean he really must've loved it if it was "a rodeo" in his mouth!

That is so funny that you posted that Jessica, because I just did the same thing. I have the recipe on the blog if you want to try it out. They are just as good as those brownies :).
