No, still no baby. I just thought it was about time that I update our blog, especially since I probably won't have the time to for awhile once little man decides to make his grand entrance. I am getting "checked" every week now, (and those of you ladies who've had kids know what a pleasure that is) and I am dilated to a "tight one" and there's definitely some thinning and effacing going on. She could feel the baby's head, and we will be doing an ultrasound this week most likely, to see how big little brother is and get a better idea of when he'll be arriving. So we'll keep you udated on that.
On other news Chase is going through this knowledge growth spurt. He surprises us every day with new words and sentences he's saying. He understands that I have a baby in my belly now and he'll come and point at my belly and yell, "BABY OUT!" and he loves listening to baby brother's heart beat at doctor's appointments and goes, "baby?" every time we are listening. I think he's excited for a baby in the house. He knows many of his letters now and likes to sing his ABC's. He loves books, he'll go and grab piles of books and just sits on the floor and looks through them and "reads" them out loud. We have a bed time routine of reading him 4-5 books before bed. I'll put a stack on our side table and get him a cup of milk to sip on while we read to him. Well, the other night when I was getting him his milk Kyle came into the kitchen and told me to look at what Chase was doing. He was going mach ten, gathering as many books as his little arms could carry and adding them to the pile. Needless to say we ended up reading A LOT of books that night. We're so proud of the sweet little boy he's become.
We've been very busy this weekend and decided to get some painting done. We desperately needed color on our walls. I've never painted before and I was really excited for the whole process, but I realized about 1/2 an hour into the sweaty, and painfully dull experience that painting is NOT fun. We've painted both of the boy's rooms though and just have little touch ups to do before they're complete. We'll tackle our big rooms over the next couple weeks little by little to hopefully finish before the baby comes. Kyle told me yesterday, and I quote, "Jess, you are a trooper painting alongside your husband at 9 months pregnant!" and to that I say oh so true! There were many times when I wanted to play the pregnancy card, but I just would've felt too guilty.
The prego aches and pains are defintely coming on. I have been so lucky to make it as far along as this and really not have too many discomforts. I've been jogging throughout my entire pregnancy (yes, jogging and yes it's safe according to every doctor and nurse practitioner at my office, and all the research I've done online. As long as you were doing it before your pregnancy and you listen to your body). I've felt great getting some good cardio in 4-5 days a week. Last week that all changed though, my body would get fatigued about 20 minutes into my jog, whereas I used to be able to go for 30-40 minutes no problem, and my hips and pelvis would kill for the rest of the day. So I've relented jogging and I just do various dvds that aren't as much impact and pressure but still give me a great workout. It'll be nice to work out after delivery and just feel good period.
Anyways, this post is long enough and it's story time now, so I'm calling it a day! Here are some pictures for now. Enjoy!

You. Are. My. HERO!!!!!!
I want to be just like you-- seriously!!! When I get preggers again (in like a year or four) tell me EVERYTHING you did... cuz I'll be dammmmed if I gain another 244 pounds again. No way, Jose!
I can't believe BB White (baby boy white) is coming!!!!!!!!! I truly wish with all my heart that you were having him here in Rexburg and that I still worked at the hospital and that I could come and check on you while you labor and labor .... ok, so when I re read that part... I really really don't want to be working at the hospital again and it sort of sounded a little dodgey when i say "come and check on you while you labor and labor."
but you get it. right?
I can't wait for him to come!!! PLEASE don't jip us on the pictures either... dangit i miss you Whites!
Ok, Chase is so dang adorable and yummylicious-- may I borrow him??? He could teach Ava how to say the REAL ABC's (instead of her version, which goes: "A, B, C, D, E, A, A, B, DEEEEEEEE, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom. Cookie?" it's really really really annoying!
another question... how long were you on metformin before you got preggers? I've been taking it for about 2 or 3 months now (still not trying for a baby) but I was wondering if there was a long lag or what not! Also, did you get really nausious while taking them? Also (sorry, this is the longest comment in the history of comments) how long have you been running before you got pregnant? I'm really really out of shape and haven't been to the gym since the mornings you and I went together (about 17 years ago) sooooo... let me know, k?
ps. I just love your face off! good luck these last few days!!
Jess, when I read the BABY OUT comment I think I seriously snorted out loud. That is so cute. I can't believe you were painting (and running- I ran the other day, not far mind you, and thought I might die). You're due in like two days. The only thing you should have to do is walk out to the car and have Kyle drive you to the hospital.
Jess, thanks for the reply... that helps me out... mainly cuz I think that I SHOULD be thinking about having another kid here someday... but I wanted to know sort of a time frame to that happening!? Many Thanks... domo arigato, Mr. Roboto!
Wow, I love the color you guys painted the rooms! Is that the same color you'll use in the Master Bedroom? And my favorite picture is of Chase eating corn on the cob...too cute...we had it the other night, and I didn't think of offering Payton any. Poor kid is getting gypped by his momma! Good luck these last few days/weeks of pregnancy (I can't lie, I'm jealous you're prego time is almost up!), we're excited for you guys!
I love the green you chose for Chase's room! I can't believe you are painting at 9 months prego, you hard worker you! My doc. said I can't paint so...Jacob is painting the baby's room this Saturday. :) I can't wait to see this baby boy of yours, hopefully he arrives soon. Let me know if there is anyway I can help after you deliver. Good luck Jess, I love you!!
Jess!! Love the color on the wall! Yes painting is a pain, but I love it when it's done--color can totally change a room! Jogging! You rock! Delivery is going to be NO problem now! The 2nd one is ALWAYS easier than the first. Kenzie just slid right out!! I hardly had to push--soo great! I am so excited for you! Let us know, when baby comes!
Much Love, Chris
