Rome!

You Belong in Rome
You're a big city soul with a small town heart
Which is why you're attracted to the romance of Rome
Strolling down picture perfect streets, cappuccino in hand
And gorgeous Italian people - could life get any better?
What City Do You Belong In?

I can't say it wouldn't be amazing to live there, but I don't think it'll ever happen! Besides, the small town part of my heart could never live so far away from family. Different states is definitely as far as we go!

Chase can never out run Hailey when playing TAG!

1. Chase shares a middle name with his uncle Kelly his grandfather Byron and his great grandfather White.

2. He's a very curious and observant baby, he's always thinking, I just wish I knew about what!

3. We've been told by our doctor that he's an early talker and if he takes a little while longer to hit milestones it's because he'd rather talk! He can say "momma" and "dadda" (started at 6 months) and he rarely confuses the parent he's addressing!

4. He loves watching me sign things to him. He watches my hands very intently and sometimes afterwards I'll catch him examining his own hands and separating his little fingers and turning his hand front to back (I hope that means he's catching on)

5. He's extremely limber! I didn't think that was very unique because I've seen some very limber babies in my time but I guess that their are many who do not share his flexibility. Maybe he'll be a gymnast!

6. He loves his baths! It's his favorite time of any day. His eyes get huge with excitement when we draw his bath and his legs kick faster than I've ever seen any human kick!

7. He loves the outdoors. He loves walks, swimming, going to meet daddy outside when he gets home from work. If it takes him outside, he's all over it!

8. He seems to have a very good immune system (knock on wood). In his 7 months of life he's only had mild congestion and a runny nose for maybe one day in Idaho during the winter. His doctor always comments on how that's quite an accomplishment!

Now Chase would like to tag Addie, Sevy, Luke, Ava, and Grant!

Kids Say...

I just have to say, I love my calling in church. I've never taught the 7-8 year olds before and I never knew how much fun that age group could be. We just have some of the cutest little characters in our class. I team teach with another girl, Katrina, whom I just adore! We're both about the same age and in the same stage of life and we just have so much fun with these guys! Anyways I've noticed over the last couple weeks, as they've gotten more comfortable with us that their personalities are starting to really come out and show through. Well Katrina taught the lesson today and she brought little treats for the kids as part of the object lesson. She had them close their eyes and she went around and put the treats in their laps. When they opened their eyes they were allowed to eat these yummy homemade chocolate truffles (they were in heaven). All their faces gradually started getting more and more coated with chocolate and they were so excited and absolutely loving their little sweets. All of a sudden one of our little boys Thomas blurts out "this is like a rodeo in my mouth!" Katrina stopped what she was talking about and we both just started cracking up, we thought it was so funny! They are always saying the funniest things and I just had to share this one because I've never heard that analogy before. Thomas must have really enjoyed his little truffle! I guess we'll have to do more object lessons like that now that we know how much it means to our little class! I mean he really must've loved it if it was "a rodeo" in his mouth!

Dreams of dancing

So Kyle and I periodically like to get into the habit of making goals. Weekly, monthly, yearly and so on. We were talking last night and Kyle said that he had been thinking about long term goals recently. Kyle suggested that maybe a long term goal we could have is to own a small studio one day that I could teach dance lessons out of. It may be a surprise to many of you to know that I used to dance...a lot, and it was and still is a passion of mine. I was on the dance team at BYUI for a semester and then I auditioned for and made the Contemporary Dance Team (or theater as they now call it). I still have a deep passion for dance and I get very nostalgic and teary when I think about dancing and how it used to be such a staple in my life. Due to marriage, a baby, lack of time and lack of space, I have become very much out of practice and out of shape. I guess if I make this one of my long term goals I'll have to dust off my old shoes and clothes and start dancing and conditioning again. I think I have my work cut out for me, but I have to say that the prospect of reaching my goal is very exciting! Wish me luck!
