Why do we need titles anyway?

Chase doing his FAVORITE activity, playing in the car!

Chase enjoying an ice cream cone. I think he really liked it!

Chase and daddy in their easter outfits that I made them wear early. Such handsome boys!

Our sweet little boy.

I don't know what this post should be titled, and I don't have the patience to sit here and try to come up with something, so that will just have to do! Not too much new is going on around here, just chugging through the remainder of tax season, and now I understand the phrase "death and taxes". I'll bet some tax accountant came up with that, or maybe the wife of one. This year has definitely been THE worst tax season for Kyle as far as being grueling and utterly draining goes. We try to make the best of it and have started doing weekly picnics where Chase and I come to Kyle's work with a yummy picnic lunch and we kidnap him for an hour of Kyle/daddy time! I think all of us, even Chase really enjoy this little tax season tradition we seem to have made. Chase gets so excited all morning as I put together the lunch and tell him we're going to go see daddy at work. We go to a beautiful, quiet park by Kyle's work and just play and eat! We're excited to finally see an end in sight for this tax season in only 2 1/2 weeks.

With tax season coming to a close we've been thinking of the house projects we want to tackle as soon as Kyle has the time. He's actually really excited to get things done around the house, he loves working with his hands and getting projects done. We've shopped for trees this past weekend and have decided we want to put a peach tree and an orange tree in our backyard for sure maybe two of each. I also want to plant a vegetable garden and I'm excited to get that started. My mom grew tomatoes, lettuce, basil, and bell peppers in her garden when they lived in Arizona, and she said they grow wonderfully here. So, I'm excited for that because we buy most of those veggies almost every shopping trip we make. We also hope to paint our main rooms and the boys' rooms before baby brother comes because I don't think it'll get done any time soon after a new baby arrives.

The pregnancy is going superbly. By this time in my prgnancy with Chase I was pretty miserable and huge! I was swollen by 24 weeks during that pregnancy and it never fully went down until about a month after delivery. I had numb hands almost all the time, sore ankles, hips, and back and a weight gain of 80 pounds by the end, YOWZA! Fortunately I have been spared all of that this pregnancy, and I've really enjoyed being pregnant quite a bit this time around. No swelling, no numbness, only occasional hip pain, all in all I cannot complain. I'm down to appointments every two weeks now, and at each appointment I ask how much I've gained, to keep my weight gain in check. Well, at my last appointment my doctor said she'd be surprised if I gained more than 15 pounds this entire pregnancy at the rate I'm going. So, I'm definitely ok with that.

The baby is doing excellent also. He is SO extremely active and strong too. I've been doubled over a couple times due to some impressive jabs to the ribs, and he still has 9 or more weeks of growing left! We're so excited to meet him soon. Even Chase seems to be coming around to the idea of a baby brother. He seems to like babies a lot more now, but he doesn't quite understand the concept of a baby inside mommy. I'll ask him where the baby is and he'll point to himself or to his belly. He is still our baby after all.

Chase is growing into such a sweet little boy. He's so gentle and loving, even to other kids. He gets worried when other kids are sad, and he is the best little kisser. He doesn't get mad or upset when other kids take the toy he's playing with, he just finds something else. He loves going up to other kids and talking and smiling at them. He's always been a pretty tender hearted little boy, but we thought nursery might change that and possibly make him agressive, but it seems to have done the opposite. I think he gets it from Kyle, and I absolutely love that about him.

Well, I believe that concludes White family news for now. Hopefully we'll have more exciting updates after tax season ends and we get back into the swing of things!

Playing catch up

Just a warning, this post is going to be all over the place, from pictures of the new home, to pictures (as requested) of the baby bump, to pictures of Chase (of course)! So bear with me and hopefully enjoy.

Pictures of the little guy...
Spaghetti night at our house. Chase comes out looking like a burn victim. I don't even know or understand how he gets it above his eyebrows, but he manages...

Whenever we step into the sun this is the face we get from Chase. I call it his "stinky face". Ninety percent of the time we're at the playground this is the face he's making. If I were other children I would be afraid, he looks dangerous...

Chase got this little gem of a red wagon from Nana for Christmas and he loves it so much! We go on wagon rides once a day (sometimes twice). Whenever we get home from somewhere he gets out of the car and heads straight for the wagon. I let him play in it in the garage while I unpacked the groceries one day and found this...

He put an empty cardborad box inside and was trying to get in...unsuccessfully

trying to show me that he's being careful as he tries again because I just told him, "be careful..."

Finally did it! Happy happy!

Kyle's dad and little brother Cameron came down to Arizona a couple weekends ago and Chase followed Byron around all morning on the Saturday they left. I think he was growing quite attached to his grandpa. I was cleaning the kitchen when I saw Chase walk in like this...wearing Grandpa Byron's Boise State hat and loving it! Maybe a Bronco's fan in the making?

Kyle!

He's not going to be very happy with me for posting this picture, but really it's not too bad , and it's THE ONLY picture I could find of just him. As you can see, he doesn't like being the only person in the picture...he may have me delete this later, we'll see. I love you honey bunny!
Alright, stepping up to the challenge of Tess' tag here goes one for the hubs. I don't know when he'll get a chance to see this because he's been so busy at work but hopefully he won't be too embarassed when he does! Love you hon!

1.Where did you meet your husband? We were in the same ward duriung fall semester of '03 and during summer semester of '04. I always thought he was dating someone else (one person being his own sister, who I didn't know at the time was his sister, he was just always with her). I wasn't one to wreck a happy couple, so I never pursued him. He ended up putting the moves on me during that summer semester.

2.How long did you date before you got married? 3 months dating 3 months engaged. So I guess a total of 6 months.

3. How long have you been married? 4 years

4. What does he do that surprises you? He is not what most would call full of surpises. He is very organized and likes to plan things out. I've been surprised with flowers at work many times, and he likes to bring me treats home from his work. He's surprised me with a couple outings, one to a D-Backs game and another to go jet skiing and camping at Bear Lake. He knows how much I enjoy spontaneity and surprises, so he tries to be creative and that's all that matters!

5. What is your favorite feature of his? Woah, a little personal don't you think? Just kidding, I've always loved his eyes and lips. Luckily Chase got both of those features from his dad which makes me a sucker for both of my boys.

6. What is his best quality? Hard, hard worker! He works so hard to provide for our family and even when he's home he hardly ever just relaxes. He's always trying to get stuff done! Even though he's working 70-80 hour work weeks right now, he still insists on donating plasma for extra cash twice a week!

7. Does he have a nickname for you? Not really, he either calls me "Jess" or "Mommy" around Chase.

8. What is his favorite food? I'm not too sure because he really likes everything. Some of his favorites are Uno's pizza, Valle Luna's carne fundido, and Gecko Grill's mango chicken quesadilla.

9. What is his favorite sport? He likes football and basketball a ton, but he loves playing any sport or game. He's pretty competetive.

10. When and where did you first kiss? We first kissed sometime after our fourth date. I was planning on holding out on him for a while but he asked and I thought it was sweet. He was showing me some of the home jobsites he was working on at the time, and we were under a beautiful starry sky and he just asked and I said okay. Then he asked me if I would be exclusive with him and I said I would. Then he kept asking me if he could kiss me and I said, "I'm your girlfriend, so you don't have to keep asking you can just kiss me!"

11. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? Anything! We love spending time together, I really enjoy going out to dinner and a movie with Kyle. We're not picky though, time together whatever it is, is golden!

12. Do you have any children? Yes, a handsome little guy named Chase, and another little handsome man on the way!

13.Does he have any hidden talents? He's actually a really good handy man. He likes to figure stuff out and build stuff. He'll tell me, "we don't need to hire someone to do that, I'll do it!" and to my surprise he can and he does, really well!

14. How old is he? 27

15. Who said 'I love you' first? He did. Even though I knew I did before he said it to me, I was always too old fashioned to say it first.

16. What is his favorite music? He's not much of a music listener but he likes a wide range. He probably listens to Country music and Josh Groban most frequently though.

17. What do you admire most about him? Where do I start? He's a wonderful husband and father. He's patient, kind, caring, loving, and sensitive. He loves the gospel and strives to live it daily. He works so hard providing for us, and I know it's not always easy to go into work at 6 am and come home at 10 pm, but he does it EVERY day without complaint. He's the best!

18. What is his favorite color? Blue maybe, I'm with Tess, do guys really have a favorite color?

19. Will he read this? If I tell him it's about him he will. Only to make sure I didn't say anything too embarassing about him.

20. Who will I tag next? Whitney, Amy, Jamie, and Tiffany...whoever hasn't already done this one!

Help Me Please!

This is what I'm hoping for...

This what I'm afraid I'll get...

Ok, so here's the deal. We're now only a few months away from the arrival of our new tiny bundle and I have a BIG predicament. Chase is extremely jealous of other children when either Kyle or I are giving any sort of attention to an unknown child. Normally Chase loves looking at other babies, he's very interested in them and really likes them. We just didn't realize that he only likes them when their own parents are holding them and not HIS parents. When we were in Colorado visiting my family in January, I could only hold my little 6 month old neice Brinley when Chase was napping or playing in a different room. If he happened to catch either Kyle or I holding my sweet little neice, he would cry hysterically and grab at my pants or shirt or anything he could until I would give her back to my sister and hold him. We had another situation like this last week in church. Kyle went to drop Chase off in nursery and there were no nursery leaders in there just other parents who were dropping off their children. Somehow we both got roped into helping out in nursery. Well the nursery coordinator was running back and forth in between the two rooms the whole time with her little maybe 5 month old baby and she left her in our room for a little while. Well, as soon as the little baby girl realized her mom was not around she started crying. I picked her up to console her and Chase immediately FREAKED OUT! That's when I thought to myself, "this is very very not good."

So, Monday I reserved some story books at the library that are meant to warm toddlers up to the idea of having a new baby around. I need more ideas though! I know many of you have already gone through this and some of you haven't, and I really don't care who the help comes from as long as I get it before I end up requiring some mental help! So bring on the tips and tricks!!!

Out numbered three to one!

*DiScLaImEr* these pictures were taken about a month before we closed on the house. I'll explain...

The house prior to front yard landscaping being complete and the garage being painted

Chase opening the door in his bathroom

The master bathroom before carpet installation

The front hallway and kitchen off to the left (not pictured) The cabinets they first installed weren't the right size so picture those cabinets but about a foot longer.

The kitchen sink and floor

I know what many of you are thinking right now. It's about time! I feel very guilty lately about not updating for almost two months! Time really has not been on my side for the past couple months but finally things are starting to slow down a bit to where I feel like I have a little more control over my life. So I thought I'd get my rear in gear and give you guys a little update!
We went in for our mid pregnancy ultrasound on December 3oth and the baby looks great and appears to be very heathy and doing well BUT was very uncooperative as far as gender prediction goes. Legs were crossed and there was a loop of umbilical cord right smack in between the legs, which makes for very difficult determining. When we left the ultrasound we were pretty disappointed that we weren't able to find out what we were having. The ultrasound tech said that she was leaning one way but she didn't want to disclose any information in case she was wrong. So our next ultrasound was scheduled for January 19th. We went in and thought the same thing was going to happen because she started the ultrasound stating the same thing, "legs crossed, loop of umbilical cord in between the legs." In the end though after much poking and prodding and twisting and turning she was able to make a pretty positive guess as to what we will be expecting come end of May beginning of June. Drum roll please.......It's A Boy! We're having another baby boy for those of you who didn't know already or didn't catch that from the title of this post. We're pretty sure they'll do yet another ultrasound sometime before his arrival but they're pretty sure that's what we can bet on. We are so excited for another little boy! We were hoping that we would have another boy this time because Chase and he will be so close in age and also for financial aspects. We won't have to buy anything new really, just recycle Chase's stuff!

So, that's the first update for our little family the second is that we are proud home owners!!! We absolutely LOVE our new house, it's made me a totally new person to finally own a beautiful home of my own. It's perfect for our little growing family and we just adore it. Kyle thinks I've fallen off my rocker with how much I clean everyday, but honestly I love cleaning my own house. I love it when the appliances sparkle and when the floors glow and when I see carpet lines from vaccuming and sparkling windows and mirrors. I love coming home to the smell of lemon and lavender scented cleaners throughout the house. I don't think it's weird but Kyle seems to think so. My family (especially my mom) would think that my behavior is not only perfectly normal but necessary. You be the judge. I know you guys have been waiting for pictures but I don't know where the hookup for our camera is to download some pics. I'll see what we have on here already and post those, but I'm afraid updated ones will have to wait. I will also try to be more consistent with updating now that I really don't have an excuse to not be more consistent, at least for 3 1/2 more months or so!
